Overview

It is our belief that education is more meaningful to children when presented in an environment that is familiar, that relates to their home life, and that allows for discovery-based experiential learning and multi-sensory activities that reinforce curriculum instruction.

We encourage multi-disciplinary, project-based learning, including multi-age groups as possible, and various kinds of collaborative learning to develop thinking and communication skills. Research and inquiry are promoted, as well as skill building in the basics of core areas through a variety of learning styles. We believe that all students have multiple intelligences and can learn and succeed.

Our four primary values are:

  • Understanding the unique natural and cultural history of our ‘aina
  • Creating artistic expressions which enrich our human interaction, including with our land and planet
  • The importance of community in our lives
  • A high level of academic achievement
