June 6,7,& 8 CONFERENCE WEEK – EARLY RELEASE:  School gets out at 12:30pm.  Please be sure to pick up your child by 12:45pm. The school bus will be leaving by 12:45pm and arriving in Pahala by 1:05pm, Na’alehu School by 1:30pm, and Na’alehu Theatre by 1:35pm.  Lunch will be served. Mahalo!         

Last Infoflo:  This is it for 2010-2011 school year and first, we’d like to thank all you parents and students who returned the folders in a timely manner.  You can’t imagine how much that helps Ms. Nao’s job. Also, we want to thank Ms. Nao for taking care of this huge undertaking every week.  We don’t know what we would do without her!!!  When you see her, please give her a big thank you.

Enrollment Form SY 2011-2012 Please fill out the enrollment form if your child is returning to VSAS by June 8.  If you have any questions, please call the office.  Mahalo!

 Fundraiser Mahalos: VSAS food booth fundraiser at the Roller Derby was such a success!  We would like to give special thanks to Holly Zimmerman, parent of second grader Jaden Dillon for hooking us with the Roller Derby concession stand, Barbara Toles, mother of fifth grader Mikey Fonseca for letting us prep the food at Cooper Center, Michelle Galimba, parent of Ua Alencastre-Galimba in the fourth grade for donating 60 lbs of hamburger, Café Ohia for donating 200 hotdogs, J. Hara store for discount on 200 lbs of ice cubes, Jay Warner (Mrs. Warner’s husband) for transporting the ice bags to the civic, and Ms. Peggy and Mr. Judd for donating canned juice. Big Mahalos to our wonderful team at VSAS, Shannon Mann, Mrs. Warner, Ms. Lydia, Glen Kadota, Xanthe Sensei & Peter Serafin, Mrs. Hand, Mr. Jim, Karl Halemano, and Dr. Rizor for all your help and support in making this fundraiser possible!  Much Mahalo, Tammy

School Annual 2010-2011 (last notice): Yearbooks are on sale now for $20.  If you would like to order a yearbook, please fill out the order form and return with payment.  And disregard the all about personalization icon.  Any questions, please call the office at 985-9800.  Mahalo!

Missing Ukulele (last notice)

One of the school’s ukuleles is missing from the music room.  Please return it to the school office.

Lunch & Bus Bills The lunch bills are included with this Infoflo.  There are 7 more days of lunches after the bills come to you, so we guessed how many lunches you may have gotten.  If this is incorrect, correct your bill accordingly. Please get your payment into the office before school is finished. PS: Next year, full price lunches have been increased to $3.00.  Sorry, not our call.

June 25, 11 am-2:30 pm, $25-30.  Face Art for teens & adults, Wed. June 29, 10am-12pm, $15.  Keiki Hula for ages 5 & up, Tues/Thurs. June 14-30, 8:30-9:30am, $56.  Art Camp Likolehua for ages 6-17, Mon-Fri, July 11-22, 9am-4pm, $285 by 6/30. Gymnastics Fantastics: Thank you, my wonderful students and their families for another successful year.  I am truly blessed to have this opportunity to work with you.  Classes over the summer will take place at the VolcanoArtCenterfor ages - tots  to twelve.  Monthly sessions here at the school will begin again on Mondays and Wednesdays after school (dates coming later).  Call me, Theresa, for more info – 985-8736

 

End-of-Year Showcase

Parents, families, and friends of VSAS students are invited to this informal opportunity for students to show off a little of the performing arts they learned this year in some Resource and Afterschool classes.

* Music and Merengue will be optional. For Music, students will be invited to participate on the spot. For Merengue, students are deciding ahead of time if they want to dance, but may not back out after they make a commitment. For Merengue, there are no dress requirements, but students can feel free to express some style with button shirts for boys, skirts for girls (not short), or nice shoes for all. There will be no time for changing, so students performing in multiple pieces will choose one to dress for.
